Old-Growth Oak Mantels and Beams with Deep Character
If you like plenty of character, look no further than our old-growth oak beams reclaimed from open-air railcars. "Old-growth" refers to trees that have been growing for hundreds of years. It's no longer legal to cut them down today, but these were from trees felled more than 120 years ago. We reclaimed these beams from open-air rail cars. Combined their old growth with the 90 or more years they have been "working" on outdoor railways, the character could not be deeper or more beautiful.
There are 4 sizes to choose from. 6"x 9" (approx), 3" x 9", 3" x 7 1/2", and 3" x 5 1/2". The smaller sizes have a few holes where they were bolted down, smaller on one side than the other. The 3 " x 9" have no holes (inventory is limited).
Patina is a weathered grey. These photos show Any of these beams can be joined to make larger or different shaped pieces. We've used them to build mantels, table legs, ceiling beams, and more.
